- Studio 60 won me over this week by having both Lauren Graham and Sting (with a lute!) appearing during the episode.

- The weather has changed suddenly from wet and foggy to dry and windy. It feels more like fall to me now; these winds are trick-or-treating weather.

- I always laughed at the "Danger: High Winds - Watch for Falling Branches" sign that they put up on the park in campus, but today while walking through the park I saw three medium-sized eucalyptus branches fall (from about 40 feet!). Maybe I won't walk through the park on the way back.

Curiously, almost everyone at this coffeeshop is drinking non-coffee drinks; most have iced tea or hot tea, and a few have lemonade. Is this a fluke or a trend? I love tea, so I wouldn't mind having more options in coffeehouses if tea is becoming newly popular.

Changing trends like this always remind me of the ridiculous fads in Connie Willis' Bellwether. When duct tape jewelry becomes popular, we better watch out!
